Commonwealth Bank (CBA) Web Connector - Significantly increased failure rate

Incident Report for Basiq

Resolved

We are closing this incident as there is no immediate resolution available within our control. The degradation in performance of the CBA web (scraping) connector is due to the recent enforcement of mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) by CBA, which cannot be bypassed or automated within the scraping framework.

This security step taken by CBA means that access via the scraper connector will remain degraded or unavailable for the foreseeable future. We will no longer provide updates under this incident, but we continue to monitor the situation and explore alternative approaches where possible.

Please note that this issue is isolated to the scraper connector. CBA Open Banking connections remain fully operational and unaffected.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage partners to consider Open Banking connections where available.

Thanks for your understanding
